The Holiday Fest actually runs from the middle of November to the New Year, with the last scheduled event taking place in early January but the Night of LIghts has it's own brand of fun. Thousands of people brave the weather and crowds to see the lighting of the Santa Claus lights and Wreath in downtown Fort Wayne. To commemorate this event, choirs sing, orchestras play, hot chocolate is served, and of course, the Jolly Old Elf makes a special appearance. Photos with Santa are a given. Many people stop into Coney Island just for a chili dog and to warm up. The court house and convention center are open with entertainment offered inside. The evening is topped off with a fireworks display, shot from the Tin Caps stadium.
