Each year Ft. Wayne makes a big event of the annual lighting of the Santa Claus in downtown Fort Wayne. In recent years it has come to involve fireworks that are shot off from the Tin Caps baseball field. The night of lights is part of the annual holiday festival.
A good place to see the fireworks is of course, at the baseball field. If it is too crowded, another good vantage point is the south side of the convention center under the overhang. This is a particularly good place to be if the weather is not cooperating.
The fireworks are held just before Thanksgiving. In 2012 it was on November 21st.
