Originally Varatojo was just the monastery. Then, a village, a modern village, grew around, up hill, functionally working as a suburb to the nearby town of Torres Vedras. There is something odd with this spot: there are a few waymarks in diferent categories all together. There is a geodetic point, a windmill and a playground. Oh... and and a city landscape if you like.
