Salmo Foods - Salmo, BC - The Local Neighborhood Grocer on Waymarking.com

There are two food stores in the small town of Salmo, a medium sized supermarket, and this one. Family owned and operated, it is a very popular place, in spite of the larger size and greater selection of the larger supermarket just two blocks away. Salmo foods is located at 323 Davies Avenue, one block off Highway 6 in Salmo.

Salmo foods is a very popular food store among the locals for four reasons. The management and employees are all very amiable and personable people, they have a butcher shop on site, they have plentiful stocks of fresh produce, bulk foods and natural and organic foods, and then there are the airplanes.

Hanging from the ceiling of the store are dozens of Remote Controlled, flying model aircraft. They were all built by the father of the present owner (obviously a man with waaaay too much time on his hands), and are, we're told, a small portion of his collection. Any airplane freak passing by needs to stop in here for their snacks/refreshments/groceries, just to gawk at the airplanes for awhile.
