The detail on this sculpture was amazing. Even the symbols on his headband were detailed. There is a little bit of rotting wood where the sculpture meets the cement & flagstone base.
Located about 50 feet in front of the entrance of Starved Rock Lodge. This sculpture was the 62nd carving of the Wispering Giant series. It was made in 1989 specifically for Starved Rock State Park, near Utica, Illinois.
Chief Walks with the Wind of the Winnebago Nation was associated with the park for nearly 50 years and provided the first written language for Indian Folklore.
