The tabernacle is a church opened on the site in 1815, but rebuilt in 1904 and is still in use even now. To the road side of the building is the old Sunday School part with this chimney on it.

The Tabernacle Chapel is of the Presbyterian faith and is located opposite the Long Street Pay and Display car park on Long Street, on a northern road in Newport.
