The Balancing Rock is a giant Triassic basalt column left standing after the surrounding columns eroded and fell into the sea. This beautiful remnant of the dinosaur age may also someday fall into the sea. The trail to get there follows a boardwalk through a bog abundant with pitcher plants. The trail is approximately 2.5 kms (return) ending with a series of steep staircases that reveal the marvelous view at the waters edge.
Parking is available at the trail head (N44 22.059 W66 14.137).
