Red Tower was built for the protection of Alanya Castle by Alladdin Keykubat, Sultan of the Anatolian Seljuk dynasty, in 1226.

Red Tower is one of the important towers, which was maintained unit the present day in Turkey. His name is coming from the color of his stones. According to the inscription found on the entrance gate, master builder of this structure is Ebu Ali from Aleppo (Syria in present), who also built Sinop Castle.
The tower is five storied, eight cornered and its height from the east side is 33m, and from the west side is 30 m. The diameter of tower is 29meters.
At present, the museum in the tower and from the top gallery beautiful view of the city of Alanya.
