Makinson's Hardware Store opened in 1884 and as far as I know the Silhouette Horse was placed when the store opened. Located in downtown Kissimmee. This retail hardware store is the oldest operating retail hardware store in the State of Florida.

Makinson Hardware used to sell Horse equipment back in the Pioneer days, and the early 1900s, when the cowboy was King in this area, but Disney came to the area & now Tourism is King.
