One of the first monuments set up after the "War of the Great Rebellion" on July 4th 1866.

A tall obelisk topped by an eagle with outspread wings, and decorated with reliefs of crossed rifles and flags. The main inscription reads "Erected July 4th 1866, by the citizens of Venango Co. in memory of the brave heros of this county who died in defense of the union in the War of the Great Rebellion." The monument lists 420 names of locals who died, which was just under 2% of the population at that time.
