The mosaic has the words 'Jesus give them eternal rest 1914 1918' carved above it with a Calvary higher up above the portico. The mosaic shows what is believed to be the Virgin and Child. Mary is holding the child in her left arm and is supporting Him with ther right hand. Both are shown with halos. At either side is a plant with green stem and white flowers. The mosaic is semi-circular in shape with the background being predominantly a yellow shade. The attire of Mary and Jesus is of varying colours to give the effect of shadow which it does very well. Around the top edge of the mosic is a line of blue/green, white and black mosaic tiles.
Specific visit requirements:
The mosaic can be seen 24/7 from the footpath that passes adjacent to the church.
