A bronze sculpture in memory of the popular orca whale K-5 Sealth stands in the Lime Kiln Point State Park on San Juan Island, Washington. K-5 Sealth was a member of the K Pod of the Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW). Three pods (J, K, L) make up the SRKW who reside in the waters of Puget Sound, the Northwest Straits and Georgia Strait, B.C. They are usually seen around San Juan Island from mid-April to about the first part of October.
K-5 Sealth was an elder male. Born c. 1953, it is estimated he was about 38 years old when he died. He was featured in Bob Talbot's 1994 documentary, Dolphins & Orcas.
The sculpture was done by local Native American artist Doug Bison.
