Weißes Kreuz im Bienwald - Schaidt, Germany - Christian Crosses on Waymarking.com

The white cross is dedicated to the forest rangers, who were murdered centuries ago by poachers in this forest. In 1838 (as the legend says) a forest ranger managed to escape after he was already hanging on a tree by poachers. In thankfulness he placed a cross at that location. The original cross was 7 m high. It was renewed in 1906, 1958 1972 and 2001.

Das Weiße Kreuz erinnert an die Förster, die früher im Bienwald Wilderern zum Opfer fielen. Der Legende nach konnte 1838 ein Förster entkommen, den die Wilderer bereits an einem Baum aufgehängt hatten. Aus Dankbarkeit stiftete er hier dieses Kreuz, das ursprünglich 7 m hoch gewesen sein soll. Das Holzkreuz wurde 1906, 1958 1972 und 2001 erneuert.
