A brief note in the guidebook says:
PINNACLE MOUNTAIN
From an observation tower on the summit are views of the Unaka Range and the valleys around Erwin.

The former fire tower was renovated recently to make an excellent observation point. Hike or mountain bike up the newly constructed 4.7 mile Pinnacle Mtn Tower Trail from I-26, Exit 32.
