This water dam was built in 2006, not far from the town of Moura, in Alentejo, Southern Portugal.

This dam offers irrigation to 2700 ha of fields in the region and can store up to 11 Mm3. It's located in a remote zone, after all there was nothing there before. It's tricky to find the right access. Most of the GPS maps are not updated with this new feature.
This dam is connected to the nearby dam of Brinches by a water channel which carries the water across the fields.
