In May 1897, the West Kootenay Power and Light Co. was incorporated to supply electricity to the mines of Rossland. This building, owned by Lorne Campbell, was leased to the W.K.P.&L. to house the head office.
In 1930, the head office was moved to Trail and the company operated an electrical appliance store there until the end of World War II.
Presently the building is home to Loolu's Lost Sheep Yarns & Accessories Store, a Pet Supplies & Services shop, Mountain Shadow Hostel, and Rossland Grocery.
This building is registered in the Rossland Heritage Register.
