The school would have closed in 1970s at latest when education establishments were rationalised. Relying on ferrying pupils to school rather than having many staff and more properties. The school masters house connects to this one room school. There is still a bell on the roof. The school may have been designed by local Lancaster architects of Paley and Austin. There is a date above the school door of 1875.
