Coordinates are for the entrance to the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center East. The legend of the goatman was originally a scientist who worked at the National Agricultural Research Center which is located in Beltsville, Maryland. The scientist was said to have been doing some form of research with goats, something went wrong with the experiments and the scientist slowly transformed into the half-goat half-man creature called "Goatman". Goatman retreated into the woods around the Beltsville area once his condition became too much to hide. This is where goatman has spent the rest of his days.
There are loads of legends in Maryland concerning the goatman, in some there is no explanation for his existence, in others he is portrayed as a creature that hates all other living creatures, a gentle creature that kills only for nourishment, a scape-goat for mysterious and sometimes not so mysterious deaths of animals and pets, etc.
At one time you could drive through the many dark roads. But now, your guaranteed to have federal police checking you out. This is a Federal Facility. Visit the visitors center and go on the tour, this will probably be your best bet. Unfortunately, it would only be during daylight hours. Call 301-504-9403 for Info on tours. Tours are about 2 hours. The tour may not say anything about the Goatman, but the tour will take you to the stomping grounds of this creature. But ask the tour guide, they may have stories?
