Returning from a bombing in the industrial area in Bochum (part using a fleet of 446 bombers) collapsed on May 14, 1943 night at 02:30 pm the 4-engined English bomber Halifax BII (JB 829 KN-E, part of the 77th squadron) down to this place, after it was shot by German night fighter over the border in Emmen.
This monument was erected in memory of the 7 crew members at a general cemetery are buried.
