From the Table Rock Dam Tours web page:
Designed and constructed 1954-1958, and operated by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Table Rock Dam was created to provide flood control for the White and lower Mississippi Rivers and to generate hydro-electric power. The dam and powerhouse have become points of interest for energy conservation fans and history buffs alike.
Get an up close and personal view of Table Rock Lake Dam by taking a guided walking tour. Go deep inside the dam and see firsthand what it takes to operate the massive structure, create hydro-electric power, and maintain the pristine water for fishing, boating, and recreation on the 43,000 acre Table Rock Lake. This is a behind the scenes experience that you won’t soon forget.
Tours depart from Dewey Short Visitor Center, 4500 State Highway 165, Branson, MO.
