This covered plank bridge was built 1947. It crosses the river Birs between Münchenstein in the East and Muttenz in the West. It is 45 meters long and has the coats of arms of Muttenz and Münchenstein in the gables.
There are a handful of other wooden covered bridges in the wider area, but they all have been closed for motorized traffic. Rütihardbrücke is still open for cars up to a weight of 5 tons.
