This road was built as a connection to the Roman farms on the area of the current municipality of Hofstetten. It was in use until the 18th century when the new road was built south of the former track. Then it was abandoned and overgrew in the forest.

Some pieces just west of the residential zone of Hofstetten were excavated, examined and preserved in 1995. The road had a rut track of 137 cm and was partly cut into the rocks; these spots are in excellent condition.
