There is some conjecture as to this muffler man originally being a Paul Bunyon variety, but after a careful literature review, I know for sure this is how it was originally fabricated in the 60s. The Piratization of a muffler man was an original factory specification, with awesome accessories. The mold used to make these was similar to the Paul Bunyon muffler men but there was all sorts of neat stuff or accessories added like an awesome sword (which his hand fits perfectly in), a scabbard, gold hooped earrings, an eye patch, a hook for a hand, a scarf on the head, a peg leg and a decent beard to boot. I have been passing this thing for years and only realized, HEY! that's a muffler man.
