"The Birs (French: Birse) is a 73-km long river in Switzerland that flows through the Jura region and ends as a tributary to the Rhine between Basel and Birsfelden. It is the most important river of the Swiss Jura." (Wikipedia)

Teufelsgrabenbach is a small river with a length of slightly over one kilometer. It is located completely on the soil of Münchenstein and drains the forested plateau around Asphof between Münchenstein and Muttenz. It flows inside a trench to the west and merges with Birs about four kilometers south of its mouth in Birsfelden.

The confluence point is located in an agricultural area; it was rewilded in Spring 2011. There is a hiking path footbridge just next to the confluence spot. That is where the coordinates were taken.
