These two mining cars are on display on a sliver of land that is a small park-like setting, complete with a gazebo, and memorial plaque regarding the town's history. Just across the street is a mural featuring some of the aircraft that was tested at the Tonopah Test Range Airfield. This small park is at the junction of North Main Street and Florence Avenue.
The mining history of Tonopah dates back to the year 1900 when silver was discovered here and initiated one of the biggest mining booms in the State of Nevada.
These two mining cars have no interpretive information, but it is assumed they herald from the silver mining industry.
