Albufeira, a former fishing village, now a touristic town by seaside, is probably the most popular spot in Portugal for foreigner tourists, specially those coming from UK. It's far too crowded all year long but in the Summer it becomes unbearable. However, Albufeira is surrounded by beautiful beaches, some of them quite cozy which are perfect for a sunny Winter afternoon.
Praia de São Rafael is one of those, although it's now in the mainstream, with all the structures you would expect to find in a beach, including a proper asphalted access and parking lot.
