There is a stone pound visible from the junction of US Route 6/State Route 375 in Nye County, which was in use from 1866 to probably around 1930. It is currently abandoned and not officially open the the public but can easily be viewed from the road without needing to tresspass. The pound is shaped like a lopsided figure "8", with the smaller circle being about 25 feet wide, and attached to a larger circle that is about 100 feet wide.

ABOUT WARM SPRINGS: Warm Springs is located in the Tonopah Basin of Nye County, Nevada near the junction of US Route 6 and State Route 375 (also known as the "Extraterrestrial Highway"), about 40 miles east of Toponah. It is near the mountain pass that divides the Kawich and Hot Creek ranges . It was first settled in 1866 as a stopover location for stagecoaches and freight teams traveling from Utah to central California.
There are several natural hot springs which provided the water that was cooled, and provided drinking water for travelers and their livestock, and also allowed growing of some modest farming. The structures (including the “pound: or corral) were built of stone since this was the material that was most abundant. In the 1900s, bathing in natural hot springs became a popular tourist activity around the country and Warm Springs experienced a small revival. Bathhouses, a small café and a swimming pool were built, along with a couple of small homes for year-round residents or workers. The settlement reached its peak in the 1920s. On January 19, 1924, a post office opened here with Ethel Allred as postmaster but it was short lived, and closed on June 29, 1929.
As the horse-and-buggy days passed away, replaced by railroad transportation and later by motor vehicle travel, the original settlement began to dwindle. Even at its height, Warm Springs was never a very successful or large settlement. From all appearances, Warm Springs was completely abandoned by the 1990s and is a ghost town, having no population. Much of the settlement is boarded up or fenced off.
There are several current travel/tourist guides that praise the location as a great place to utilize the natural hot springs which are still very much active and quite hot. (The commercial bathhouse has been long closed; visitors today would need to soak in the hot springs near its source and not at the abandoned structures near the highway).
