The Bunchgrass Trail is a mile long trail within the Lava Beds National Monument and starts at the Bunchgrass Overlook vista parking area which is also part of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway program. There is parking available here at the overlook and the trail connects to the Indian Well Campground within the Lava Beds National Monument. The Bunchgrass Trail is one of many trails, long and short within the monument. The National Park Service has provided an online document of all their trails here for interested hikers/walkers.

Pets, bicycles, hunting, and motorized vehicles are not permitted on ANY trail.
Carry plenty of water regardless of trail length—no surface water exists at Lava Beds. Watch for rattlesnakes and wear sunscreen and a hat in summer. Be prepared for sudden weather changes any time of year.
