Taronga Zoo is located on the north shore of Sydney Harbour and is accessible by road or ferry. It has a wide collection of native and exotic animals, and has a range of shows and education workshops available to visitors.
From Wikipedia
"Officially opened on 7 October 1916, the 21-hectare zoo is divided into eight zoogeographic regions, home to over 2600 animals of 340 species. It has a zoo shop, a cafe, and information centre."
You will need a full day to experience what the zoo has to offer. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear as it is built on a slope, therefore you may need to do some climbing. There is an elevated gondola, called the Sky safari, which can take you from the bottom back up to the top.
