DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1984 IN PUTNAM. IN PUTNAM, 0.7 KM (0.45 MI) SOUTH-SOUTHEAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 12 FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 44, AT THE JUNCTION OF RING STREET, IN TOP OF AND CENTERED IN THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE GRANITE BASE OF A SOLDIERS AND SAILORS MONUMENT, 12.80 METERS (42.0 FT) NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 4.75 METERS (15.6 FT) WEST-SOUTHWEST OF A FLAG POLE, 1.03 METERS (3.4 FT) EAST OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE GRANITE BASE OF THE MONUMENT. THE MARK IS 0.30 M ABOVE HIGHWAY.
