This spot is located in the surroundings of the village of São Barnabé, a remote place well known by the production of "medronho" liquor, a strong drink produced in the Southern part of Portugal.

But the "medronho" it's also good to eat, as a berry. There is no English word for it, but the scientific designation of the "medronho" bush is "Arbutus unedo".

This spot is easy to access, walking from the village, and it offers a huge amount of berries to be collected. Best time of the year to pick "Medronhos" is late Autumn, sometimes early Winter.
