This subway station is part of the public transportation system in Hamburg, Germany. It was built from 1963 to 1967 and opened on January 2nd, 1967.
This station has some specialities, for example the conical form of the central plattform. While the plattform starts very wide near the entries in the west, it becomes more and more narrow towards the eastern end.
Another speciality is the exits. Although the station has only one exit to the west of the palttform, these exits are located in two different height levels. A central stair/escalator connects the station to the Hammer Landstraße through a tunnel, cause the Hammer Landstraße is laying below station level. A second set of stair/escalator allows passengers to exit the station on the level of the Hammer Steindamm, that is only a few meters above station level.
Is there other puplic transportation in the area?: Yes
What level is the station?: Below street level
