US Geological Survey 460 Puunene Maui Hawaii (DESTROYED) - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This benchmark is part of a pair of benchmarks on the same irrigation canal in the same general area (the other is a US Coast and Geodetic Survey BM, B6, PID TU0202, on the opposite side of the road around 95 feet Southwest from 460). The marker is about 2 miles southeast from the entrance to Pulehu Dump on Pulehu Road and about 4.5 miles from the Post Office in Puunene using Hansen Road going East and then Pulehu Road going Southeast. The datasheet indicated the marker was highlighted by painted "USBM" lettering on the abutment, but site shows a "BM" chiseled into cement or scratched into the cement when wet. The area shows the disc was chiseled out of the cement and taken. US Power Squadron notes from 1997 does not indicate if they did not find the marking itself upon search of area or they saw the damage and marked it as not found without any additional notes.
