Leo’s BBQ has two locations, one in downtown OKC at 7 Harrison Avenue (NOT the waymarked location) and the original (waymarked) location at 3631 N. Kelley Avenue in OKC.

Leo opened his BBQ restaurant in an old gas station in 1974. Guy Fieri visited in the summer of 2007. By then, Leo's was already famous.

Although Leo passed away in 2009, his son keeps the delicious tradition and his father's recipes alive.

Blasterz visited on a weekender to OKC in Nov 2012. Although there were 4 of us, the waitress recommended we get 2 Leo's Specials, and change up the sides. She promised us it would be enough food for all of us.

The Leo's Special comes with 2 ribs, sliced brisket, 2 hot links, ham, and (a real treat) smoked bologna! Mama Blaster had not had smoked bologna in decades (it used to be her fave as a kid), while Daddy Blaster and Younger Blasters had NEVER had it. Now we have new lovers of this transformed humble lunchmeat!

As promised, the Leo's Special filled up 4 very hungry Blasterz. That was before dessert!!!

All Leo's dinners come with a free slice of their world famous strawberry-banana cake. They make it every day from Leo's Mama's 50+-year-old recipe. Our waitress brought us 4 slices instead of 2 :) That amazing cake was as delicious as everybody says it is -- with a perfect fine crumb and exceptional flavor.

We rolled out of Leo's stuffed with great BBQ and sweetly perfumed with woodsmoke. For Texans, that was a whiff (and taste) of home in a far away place. :)
