The Chimney is located about 180 feet NNE of the Restroom Facilities in the Glen Cove Picnic area. Access to this waymark is via the Pikes Peak Toll Rd then turn in at the Glen Cove Picnic Area sign. It is at an elevation of approximately 11,440 feet so flatlanders need to keep aware of the lack of oxygen at this point.
Is this the remnant of an old lodge or maybe it is just a stand-alone artifact that got bypassed by the picnic area. You sure could cook a bunch of burgers or hot dogs on this thing. I actually asked one of the rangers and he didn't even know it was there. Must have been the new guy.
There is a trail which passes by the chimney and continues on down the mountain slope or maybe it is going up the mountain slope. I guess this is perspective. The trail looks like it is an old overgrown forestry road.
