This is a free standing column with a height of about 10 meters. It is located at the 'Schlosspark' (Palace Garden) in Donaueschingen, Germany, Baden-Württemberg.

The official name of the column is unknown. Also the creator and the reason for the column are unknown.

There's a plaque with this text at the coumn:
Erinnerung an den 19. April
1818 - 1843

(Remembering the 19th April 1818 - 1843)

This could give some hints for the reason.
Karl Egon II. Fürst zu Fürstenberg, in whos Palace Garden the column is located, married Prinzessin Amalie von Baden at the 19th April 1818. So this could be a memorial for their 25th anniversary in 1843.

The column is made of red stone - maybe limestone.
It is topped with a sculpture of an eagle made of stone.

At the basement of the coulmn are the coat of arms of the 'zu Fürstenberg' family.
Type of Column: Corinthian

Location: at the Schlosspark
