This was the flag of a family "von Utingen"; this was also the old name of Itingen. It was chosen by the municipality as the official flag in 1946.
I could not find any additional information about the meaning of the symbol. The Utingen family was the first to own a farm in the area, around which the town developed.
I found this flag at the foyer of the school in the town center of Itingen.
