The Painted Desert Visitor Center is located at the north entrance to the Petrified Forest National Park, just north of Interstate Highway 40 Exit 311, about 25 miles east of Holbrook, Arizona.

Access to the Visitor Center from Interstate Highway 40 does not require payment of the Park entrance fee.

The Painted Desert Visitor Center is open according to the following schedule:
