The lake is an oxbow lake with rustic surroundings formed by the Red River. It is located just North of the river on the West side of US 271., and is about 2-miles long from end to end. There are no facilities except for the small paved boat ramp. The ramp 1-lane wide. There are no fees for use of the ramp; it is open 24-hrs.

The lake is a quiet flatwater lake mostly used for fishing. (State fishing licenses are required.)
