Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Memorial Garden - Hugo, Oklahoma - Donated Engraved Bricks and Pavers on Waymarking.com

Although the church building is fairly large, the congregation of Hugo's only Catholic Church is fairly small, so small that it shares a priest with two other area parishes. Accordingly, it's memorial garden is also fairly small, only 100 bricks or so.

The bricks are laid in four rows along the Southeast front wall of the church. To get to it, you have to walk around from the parking lot to the front of the church facing the street. There is a small bench for contemplation as well as a pear tree (for eating).

The bricks were laid around the start of this Decade. It was before Team Blakelylaw's association with the Church, but we do not believe it was for any special reason. There is no marker except for the bricks themselves. They were either placed as a fundraiser or started because the Church's congregation is fairly elderly and dieing somewhat quickly.

The are is rededicated each year on All Soul's Day (November 2). Although the bricks are periodically decorated, they are rather forgotten most of the year.

The young man whose name is listed as part of this waymark was tragically killed in a traffic accident while in college.
