The footbridge allows access to the beach on the southern side of Crooked River's mouth. Gerroa has grown rapidly in the last 10 years as roads improve allowing more Sydney siders to build holiday homes. There are minimal shops (a Post Office & a cafe) with residents driving to nearby Gerringong to do their shopping.
