The Alabama Cattlemen's Association has created a museum for children and adults. The fun begins in parking behind the building and goes on through the door.

As one can guess from the name, this museum is dedicated to cows. In the parking lot behind the building there are signs telling folks to follow the hoofprints to the Children's Education Center. There are several displays, films, and activities, including a chance to dress up as a cowboy or cowgirl. While it is geared to children, it is still fun for the folks who bring the children to the museum.

The entrance is located at 201 S. Bainbridge Street, at the intersection with Adams Avenue in downtown Montgomery. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:30pm. There is no admission fee.

The cutout is of old time cowboys and is located in the "Slim's Buckaroo Cattle Club" area of the museum. The children will be entertained in the Cow Pen, Slim’s Kitchen, and the Rodeo Arena, where they can get hands on activities and dress up. They can also pose at the cutouts, as there is a step for them to use. The attendant told us that they have lots of school children visit so it can get quite active at times.

According to their web page:

"Each year, about 10,000 school children and adults tour The MOOseum. The MOOseum opened in 1995 and offers a fun and interactive way for people of all ages to learn about Alabama’s $2 billion beef cattle industry. The hours of operation for the MOOseum are Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm and 1pm-4:30pm CST." source: (visit link)

The MOOseum is located on South Bainbridge Street, at the intersection with Adams Avenue in downtown Montgomery. This is one block from the State Capitol Building. It is behind the Alabama Archives and History Building. Parking is on Adams Avenue, behind the building, across the street from the Alabama Archives Building.
