This wayside is part of the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway, and also the location of the trailhead to Wind Cave.
An interpretive kiosk provides a map of the trail, and also gives information about the flora and fauna that will be found along the trail.
Part of the text reads:
"Logan Canyon Scenic Byway; Why do so many rare plants grow in Logan Canyon? No one knows for sure-it could be the climate, the limestone formations they grow in, or their location on steep cliffs. Regardless, their survivial depends upon us. By working together we can protect habitat for endangered plants and allow these species to thrive in Logan Canyon."
