The Dunsmuir Historic Commercial District cover about four blocks predominantly along Dunsmuir and Sacramento Avenues in Dunsmuir, California. The 43 buildings included in the District are primarily one or two stories high and are constructed of brick or concrete. The majority of buildings on Sacramento Avenue were erected in 1903 following a major fire. The buildings on Dunsmuire Avenue were constructed in the 1920’s. A variety of architectural styles are represented in the Historic District and include Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, Beaux Arts Classicism, Renaissance Revival, Mission, and Moderne.
