The brand-new DQ in Wylie - not your parent's or grandparent's DQ in looks, but still offers all the favorites -- including the fabulous Blizzard treats in lots of flavors, even a special Blizzard of the Month (trust us -- it's da BoM!).
Blasterz loved the Chocolate Candy Shop Blizzard (July 2012 BoM), which is made of cocoa fudge, vanilla soft serve ice cream, and a generous handful (or 2) of chocolate pieces, each filled with either hazelnut creme, fudge, or caramel. But BEWARE: A medium Choc Candy Shop Blizzard weighs in at 1000 calories, so share it with a few buddies, and only after a long bike ride on a hot day!
On another visit, Blasterz got a HungrBuster and tried the fried jalapenos. Blasterz love anything spicy! DQ's version had a lot of promise since they are made from fresh (not pickled) jalapenos. Blasterz give this only-in-TX side a solid B -- B+ if they's quit serving it with Ranch dressing and A+ if they'd change the breading to not be so thick on these little strips of hot pepper happiness. We're thinking coat the chiles in egg and toss them in a little dry seasoned flour only, instead of glopping that heavy DQ steak-finger batter all over them, you know?
Big Plus: We appreciate DQ for being willing to sub the fried jalapenos for french fries on the burger combos without charging extra for them :)
