For some reason Portugal adopted three British icons widely used in the middle of the 20th Century: the "Victorian Post Boxes", the two levels Leyland buses and the "red telephone boxes". Eventually, most of these were removed. It has been a long time since the Leyland ran on the streets of Lisbon and not many Victorian post boxes can be seen. But there are still a few "red" telephone boxes.
Originally they were indeed red. Later, the Portugal Telecom company had them painted to match the institutional colors of the company: white and blue.
This one is placed in the historical center of Amarante, a great to visit, with or without a "red" telephone box to log.
Colour: It's been painted some other colour
Is it in its original position?: No
Is there a working telephone in it?: Yes
