Bereits im 13. Jahrhundert wurde auf dem Kapellenberg Wein angebaut, später wurde auf diesem Weinberg ein "Kreuz von Stein" errichtet. Im Juni 1887 wurde eine kleine Kapelle mit einer Kopie der Statue der Muttergottes von Lourdes eingeweiht.
Im Mai 1954 wurde die Kapelle durch die heutige ersetzt. Sie besteht aus einem 8 Meter hohen Turm in dem die alte Marienglocke aus dem 14. Jahrhundert hängt. Die Kapelle ist aus Randersackerer Muschelkalksteinen gebaut. Das Vordach und der Turm ist mit Kupferblech abgedeckt, oben ist ein Kreuz mit einer Höhe von 1,80 Meter angebracht. Die Marienstatuesteht unter diesem Dach auf einem Sockel. Von vorne schließt ein schmiedeeisernes Tor ab, die Rückwand bildet ein Glasfenster mit der gekrönten Maria. Der Platz um die Kapelle ist gegenüber früher bedeutend erweitert worden.
Die Kreuzwegstationen bestehen aus Rotsandstein-Aedikulen, welche auf einem Sockel aus gelbem Klinkermauerwerk stehen. Auf den Giebeln ist jeweils ein Sandsteinkreuz aufgebracht. Die Leidensgeschichte ist auf rechteckigen Terrakotta-Reliefs dargestellt, welche in die Sandstein-Gehäuse eingepasst sind. 1995/96 wurden die Kreuzwegstationen renoviert und die Reliefs durch Kunststeinkopien ersetzt. Die Originale werden von der Gemeinde aufbewahrt.

The statue stands on a pedestal under this roof. From the front closes a wrought iron gate, the back wall is a stained glass window with the crowned Maria. The square around the chapel was expanded significantly compared to the past.
The Stations of the Cross are made of red sandstone-aedicules, which stand on a plinth made of yellow bricks. On each pediment is applied one sandstone cross. The passion is presented in rectangular terracotta reliefs, which are fitted into the sandstone body. In 1995/96 the stations of the cross were refurbished and the reliefs replaced by artificial stone copies. The originals are kept by the municipality.
