Carter-Finley Stadium is named for brothers Wilbert and Harry Carter and Albert Finley. The Carter Brothers are graduates of North Carolina State and became executives with the J. P. Stevens Company. Albert Finley was a strong supporter of Wolfpack athletics who donated millions of dollars to the program. Carter-Finley Stadium opened on October 8, 1966 with a seating capacity of 41,000. Over the year the stadium has under gone several renovations and expansion including the addition of the Vaughn Towers which features 51 private luxury suites and the Chancellors Suite along with a state of the art press box. In 2003 The Murphy Football Center was added to the south end of the stadium which includes the Wolfpack Hall of Champions. Today Carter-Finley Stadium has a total seating capacity of 55,571.
