The pub is on the sea front of the first seaside resort in the UK and is near to the harbour. I’ve not been able to find any link between Scarborough and Lancaster other than in their heyday they both had busy ports.
The City of Lancaster stands on the River Lune, and the motto, ‘Luck to Loyne’ is a play on words with the river’s name.
