visit link) "The only Motor Lodge to open in Utah, Salt Lake City featured 226 guest rooms in its 13 floors. It opened in 1973 near the neart of Mormondom, and also had an attached Mansard Roof Howard Johnson's Restaurant.
After the Howard Johnson Company was split apart by Marriott in 1985, the Restaurant became a Big Boy. JB's was a Big Boy franchisee of Marriott's in the region, but I do not know if it immediately became a JB's Big Boy or operated as a Marriott owned location. At any rate, Marriott gave away Big Boy, and JB's became completely independent and separate from the few remaining Big Boy's."
The Motor Lodge was located at 122 West South Temple Street, while the restaurant was located at 102 West South Temple Street.
